Dwarf Moringa Oleifera Tree Seedlings PKM-1 (2 Per Order)
Ready for planting
These beautiful saplings are Dwarf Hybrid PKM-1 High Yield Drumstick Trees. A dwarf hybrid of Moringa Oleifera, PKM-1 trees are extremely compact compared to regular Moringa Trees, which can usually get 30 or more feet tall. This is a great option for those of us in colder parts of the country, where pot growing indoors is the only way to get Moringa trees through the winter. This variety also blooms very quickly (in as little as 3 months), and you may be able to harvest some pods in the first year! These are high fruit and oil yielding plants. Many would agree that PKM-1 is one of the most superior of all the Moringa Oleifera strains.
Seedlings come in a peat pellet to prevent disturbances to roots. Simply plant entire pellet into ground or large pot. No need to remove from pellet, but you may consider trying to carefully remove outer mesh before planting (at your own risk!)
We feed our plants red wriggler worm castings from our own red wriggler worm farm. We also feed with 'chop and drop', which is just moringa leaves and branches we prune (or chop) and then drop around seedlings' trunks.

In some instances, if you select USPS priority mail your package may be mailed UPS 2nd Day Air. It is often more reliable than priority mail. This will depend on shipping prices at the time of purchase and the distance between us. I will reach out if necessary. Please feel free to request whatever shipping method you'd like.

More info on PKM-1:
PKM – 1 – Plants grow to a height of 4-6 m and come to flower in 90-100 days after planting. The first harvest starts 160-170 days after planting and on an average each tree bears 200-225 fruits / year. Pods are 65-70 cm long with 6.3 cm girth and 150 g weight. Fruits are green coloured and highly pulpy.
How To Plant:
"When planting a young moringa tree sapling, you will need to be sure to prepare your soil in advance. Dig out and loosen a 3-4 foot hole, at least 2 feet deep and preferably 3 feet. This allows you to confirm that there isn’t heavy clay soil below the soil’s surface.
If you wish to amend your soil, this is a good time to do it. Adding one part sand to one part compost and then mixing the combination in with your soil should ensure good drainage. If your soil is already sandy, just blend in some compost on its own.
If you’re regularly applying a 3” layer of compost around your tree, you won’t need a separate fertilizer. Both cow manure and horse manure are acceptable alternatives."
